Mesothelioma

It is the most serious asbestos-releated diseases. It is no longer considered rare, though uncommon.
One of the primary causes is the exposure to asbestos and it is a risk factor.

A correct diagnosis is difficult for doctors to make because it often presents with symptoms that are similar to other common ailments. Although there is no known cure for mesothelioma, treatments such as chemotherapy and surger helped to the typical mesothelioma prognosis improve.

Pleural mesothelioma (affecting the lungs linging in the chest cavity) represents three quarters of all incidence.
Peritoneal mesothelioma which affects the pericardial mesotholioma and abdominal cavity which affects the cardiac cavity compromise the reminder. Testicular mesothelioma is extremely rare and presents with mestastes of the peritoneal variety.

The recognized mesothelioma cell-types are three. Between 70% and 50 of all are of the epithelial variety. Prognosis is generally poor it is considered less aggressiva than biphasic and sarcomatoid mesothelioma which comprise the reminder of cell diagnosis.
